New IRS Regulations Affect Itemizing Cash Contributions: Beginning in 2007, people who plan to claim credit on income tax for ANY cash contributions that are given to the church must have a receipt. We will provide receipts periodically if you place your cash contributions in an envelope with your name, address, and date on it. After a few weeks of monitoring the need, if desirable, we will provide pre-printed envelopes in the racks on the back of the pews for convenience. We will not go to the expense of purchasing/printing envelopes if the need is not sufficient.
Quiet Bags are now available in the front and rear of the main auditorium. Parents, feel free to use them, but please return them at the end of each service.
The elders request that all announcements be turned in to the church office. In this way, they can be placed in our bulletins and announcement sheets. Material for the bulletin should be in the office by 9 o'clock Tuesday morning, and material for the Sunday announcement sheet should be in by 9 AM Friday morning. This helps keep the congregation informed. It reduces the need for multiple special announcements.
Young at Heart Activities
“Showtime in Branson” October 13 - 15. Everyone is invited. You will be picked up by motorcoach at the church on Monday, October 13, and arrive in Branson around 7 PM to check in at the Grand Country Resort. Tuesday’s schedule will include breakfast buffet, three shows, and dinner on your own. On Wednesday, following a breakfast buffet at the hotel, the group will head back to Cookeville. OUTREACH UNIVERSITY
Don’t forget about OU coming up August 8-10. As usual, this should be a great weekend of learning and fellowship. We have lots of great speakers coming in, and we are expecting a record number of people to be here! Start getting excited about what we have planned for this year, and invite your friends. If anyone would like to help by housing a group of kids at your home, please let Matt Suggs or one of the interns know. Can’t wait to see you there!
SENIOR TRIP
Graduating seniors...we will be leaving Monday morning for our senior trip. We will leave the building at 8:00 for St Louis. You will need money for your meals on the trip. We will return Tuesday night.
FALL KICK OFF/INTERN APPRECIATION NIGHT
On Sunday night, August 10, we will be having our Fall Kick-off in the Fellowship Hall. We will also be honoring Jill and Erik for the great job they have done as interns this Summer. I need all the parents to sign up to bring food for the meal. There will be a sign-up sheet on the Youth bulletin board. This will be a busy night as we will be handing out the Fall schedule as well. Join us for this special evening.
